On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, Senator Joseph Kyrillos presented Phyllis and Carmine Visone with a State Senate Resolution for their 25 years of excellence in early childhood education; owning Home Away From Home Academy, and authoring “The Visone Method: A New Philosophy in Early Childhood Education”.
The Senate of the State of New Jersey saluted the school as highly esteemed in the Garden State community, in grateful recognition of its outstanding efforts. Established in 1993, the Academy has grown and developed throughout more than two decades and is currently shaping more than two hundred young minds from infancy through elementary grades. The educational values of Phyllis and Carmine have served as a model to other early childhood educators, and their inspiring book, “The Visone Method”, has earned the distinction of Publisher’s Choice award.
Senator Kyrillos echoed the words of the resolution, “The strength and success of the State of New Jersey, the vitality of its communities, and the effectiveness of our American society, depend, in great measure, upon a thorough and efficient education for our children as exemplified by Home Away From Home Academy, who uses creative methods to instill a lifelong love of learning.”
The elementary students were able to meet the Senator, and shake his hand, as he wished each of them luck in their new school year. Both Phyllis and Carmine expressed their appreciation for the Senator making time to visit the school and present this prestigious honor. To culminate the morning, Township of Aberdeen Mayor Fred Tagliarini presented the school with a Proclamation, specifically recognizing 25 years of business in the community.
Home Away From Home Academy centrally exists on Route 34 on the borders of Holmdel and Aberdeen. The school is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools, serving infants through elementary aged children.
