Technology today is changing how we communicate in our daily lives as well as in early childhood environments. When used appropriately, technology proves to be a helpful tool to support learning and development, which we do here at Home Away From Home Academy through IPads, computers, and much more. The benefits of technology can improve problem solving skills, hand-eye coordination, and cognitive development. In order for technology to be effective, it needs to be active, hands-on, engaging, and help children progress in skills development at their own level. Technology can also give children a chance to work on skills such as phonics, math, or even foreign language, which all occurs through our computer programs here. When uses of technology become an everyday occurrence the child soon becomes focused on the task at hand and not on the technology, which is important for their little growing minds!
